Seeing the buds of flowers bloom as spring surrounds me in real life, growth is abundant within my visual sphere. Baby birds are taking their first excursions with watchful parents in tow as they scavenge for seeds and grubs within the grass. The return of the call of the Kookaburra’s amongst the trees surrounding my property pulls me happily from the months of frost and rain which is my winter experience.
Maybe it is the warmer weather that has me embracing this weeks lesson with such enthusiasm. Or maybe I recognised the signs of success for personal growth within this lesson.
Many of us can sense those undiscovered or under developed qualities hidden within ourselves. Those exact same qualities we often admire in others. More often than not we ignore their pull, pushing it aside because our world is moving too fast and we are time constrained. Or worse, discounting the desire with a negative talk commentary fit to rival any political campaign.
Therefore when looking at ways of enhancing ourselves to achieve our full potential we should do more than just sit and admire someone. We should take time to investigate the trait we are attracted to and then look at ways to develop that tiny seed within ourselves. Not only does the self-love we feel grow but our productivity and sense of accomplishment also increase. A win win situation of the best kind.
There are a handful of people within SecondLife who I greatly admire. Most of these people I appreciating from afar so I am not going to list names. Maybe one day I will get the courage to openly tell these people the influence they have had on my changing life. One distinct quality all of them display is an undeniable commitment to hard work and quality. Their crafts and talents are varied however again they share the quality of being quiet achievers, not seeking fame or accolades; instead investing hours of personal time into projects for personal satisfaction. It is clear to me they can only achieve what they do by being disciplined and organised.
All these qualities I find increasingly attractive as I seek to improve my often lazy and chaotic SecondLife lifestyle.
Think of a person you love and/or respect – someone who excites you, turns you on, or lights you up. IT can be someone you know personally or someone you admire from afar. Identify three qualities that you appreciate the most about this person. For example, is this personal organized? Passionate? Healthy? Successful?
Identify one specific action or practice that you can take every day to express each of the traits you admire, and take that action.
