No sooner than we pull the streamers from our hair after all those Mardi Gras parties do we need to focus on planning for the next celebration in the calendar. March 17th, the day when we love everything green is just around the corner.
March is my favourite month of the year. With summer heatwaves finally over the autumn days embrace warm weather with just enough subtle breeze to cool the air for evening sleeping. It is a time for being social before the winter weather arrives, with large community festivals complete with fireworks and a long weekend to enjoy. It seems only natural to want to share this party atmosphere inside Second Life as well.
St Patrick’s Day is one of those celebrations which to me just encompasses fun. Everyone seems to relax a little more. There is more laughter and a sense of leprechaun fun and merriment for those 24 hours when rainbows and pots of gold reign. Food preparation stress is so entwined in other celebrations such as Thanksgiving and Christmas but St Patrick’s day it is acceptable to find some green food dye and chow down on green pancakes and jelly (jello) then head to the local pub for lively music and a cold ale.
Aphrodite Store has released a perfect item for anyone planning a St Patrick’s day celebration this year. The Sneaky Shamrock Pub reminds me of a small irish pub I use to visit when I worked in Sydney city. The guiness was always poured from the keg propped up behind the bar.
Enjoying to roleplay when buying items I always look to see how many and what animations are included. Each bar stool offers a selection of sit animations with care being taken to include a talk animation for facing left or right. Finally no more talking into the back of your sitting companion! (Something which seems rather common in SecondLife bar settings.)
Serving up a drink or two is easy with a great selection of bar tending and cleaning animations included within the bar. Ensuring the experience is as realistic as possible props are sent with each animation selected. At a single touch the drink dispenser guarantees to quench the thirst of every guest.
The luck of the Irish is packed within the easy rezz box. Place down the box, select rezz. It is simple, quick and fuss free. There is even an add on product, the Sneaky Shamrock Pub – Barrel table and 4 tools, giving you a little more casual party seating. The strategically placed shamrock platter not only dispensers a cold glass of guiness but some pretty tasty looking appetizers as well.
Both items are partial mesh and have quality textures. Not to mention they can certainly be used at other times within the year.
With my St Patrick’s Day planning just about complete … another three or four guiness and maybe I’ll even see a leprechaun?
