With the clock ticking down to the five days of Easter; this past week has kept me out of SecondLife whilst the tasks of cooking and cleaning take centre stage. Preparations are well under way for the annual arrival of our holiday guests to the property. Tents will be raised and the bonfire lit. A grand variety of colourful chocolate eggs, all waiting to be consumed, sit upon the piano. Whilst the fridge is stocked with cold meats, cheeses and fruit, a feast of epic proportions to be enjoyed.
It was like bringing a little of my real life into my second life when I saw this Easter Buffet set from Aphrodite Shops. It is reminisce of the days ahead for me. From sandwiches and vegetable dippers to the cake pops and Italian Easter Bread, everything here will grace my own tables over the next few days. With a single touch each of these amazingly detailed plates dispenses a version of the item for you to enjoy. Trust me when I say there is a super cuteness to many of these items that photos just can’t capture.
For the record, I won’t be making bunny faced sandwiches, but given how adorable they look, maybe that is something I can try next year? Now if only I could construct a floral arch like this for my own table. Although given it is Autumn not spring here in the southern hemisphere I may get an odd look or two.
Another Easter celebration release from Aphrodite Shops I want to bring attention to is the “Little Easter Decorative Set”. Consisting of three Easter inspired prints to hang on the wall and a sideboard table accented with a basket of eggs, small bunny, vintage floral watering can vase, daisy wreath and a braided Italian Easter bread. This pretty little mesh set with a land impact of only 13.5, quickly and easily adds a touch of Easter to your SecondLife home.
To say I got excited seeing the pretty Italian Easter bread would be an understatement. Given our family heritage the creation of an Italian Easter bread on Easter Sunday is a time-honoured tradition we enjoy. All the children from each family are involved in its creation. Bringing a rare and wonderful opportunity for conversation and sharing across the generations of our family.
But before we get to eat and be merry, today must be set aside for the construction of “Bunny Bum Cake Balls”. With assistance by my 3-year-old cooking companion, we will cook red velvet cake into cake balls, coat them with white chocolate and sprinkle “sparkles” onto the mini marshmallow tails. I personally think Bunny Tail would be a more classy name for these bite size bits of yum, but living in a household where the Y chromosome overwhelms, “bum” has won pride of place on the menu cards this year.
Thanks to Marina and Jay from Aphrodite Shop at least inside Second Life I can enjoy a suitably girly looking bunny pop all to myself!
For anyone who is interested links are included to both the Italian Easter Bread and Bunny Tail Cake Balls. There are many variations of the Italian Easter Bread recipe online. If you are interested in making this treat with your own family just look around and find one that suits you.
Keep Safe and Enjoy every blessing that comes your way.
Happy Easter Everyone !!
