the time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.
I know!!! Between major assessments and a bout of pneumonia, it seems like forever since I have had time to share words upon my blog. It has actually only really been seven weeks but that is an eternity in today’s fast-moving world so hopefully I haven’t been forgotten.
Although I haven’t been active with my own writing aside from formal essays and psychology reports, I have been able to keep up reading most blogs and really enjoyed seeing the changes in formats and the growth in how everyone is expressing their creative abilities. Unfortunately I usually read these laying in bed, late at night on my iPad which doesn’t easily let me comment on blogs as I really would like to, so this is my little shout out to those in the blog sphere that I love what you all do.
Photography seems to have jumped one hundred steps forward; you only have to look at the amazing photos Alexa Maravilla (Bit of Spunk) and Cougar Sangria (Classic Cougar Style) are creating these days! I have to admit to being a little envious, wishing I had the time to go purchase the new toys and experiment in world with windlights.
I thought my eyes were wide open when I made the decision to return to formal study. Jumping into the deep end of a rather challenging university degree I knew I would become “time poor” as I attempt to juggle the balls of home-maker, mother, student and friend.
I’m known for rarely rushing into decisions. Always carefully weighing up the pro’s and con’s; advantages and disadvantages and listening to the voice within for guidance. In fact people often tell me to stop over-analyzing and just enjoy the experiences. I however truly did not understand the grueling hours which would be required hunched over text books and source information. I’m beginning to wonder if at the end of my degree my posture is going to be somewhat familiar to Mr Hunchback of Disney fame and fortune!
Escaping into SecondLife at the end of nine-hour study sessions has become a little bit of a ritual and I’ll confess a necessity to keeping me sane and balanced. The whole ability to detach from the subject is an important facet of learning. Relaxing among my treasured SecondLife mementos listening to the radio stream and thinking about those who are important brings a new lease of energy and resolve to open those books and jump right back in. So if you see me online don’t be shy throwing out a hello and sharing a conversation. After all, your being a productive source to my procrastination!
With summer break only 2 weeks away .. once the final assessments are completed hopefully I get a little more time to come and play before the Christmas silly season hits!
Take care of yourselves.
