We are all wonderful, beautiful wrecks.
That’s what connects us — that we are all broken, all beautifully imperfect.
~ Emilio Estevez
As soon as I rezzed in front of ANC’s broken chair at this round of Collabor88 I knew I was going home with it. The poses are fantastic for photography and I have already seen many a photo float across my Flickr page showing people have fallen in love with it also.
I usually do all my photography during Aussie night-time when Second Life seems a little less laggy. However the shots can and do, sit on my desktop for a couple of days before I process them and see what inspirational magic happens for the words you finally read.
Therefore I had to have a little laugh that the morning after this shot, I woke to find my Second Life sister Alexa Maravilla had posted a photo in the same dress on the same chair. We have always shared similar tastes (except thankfully when it comes to men) so I was relieved to see we had selected different poses and creative muses.
For me this chair spoke of a love not yet ready to be let go of yet somehow forgotten. The chair in its prime found proudly seated at the table. Memories of each moment, trivial and grand, imprinted upon the grains of the wood. As the years flow from one to the next and life’s demands take a toll, that proud chair, with all its memories now becomes no longer beautiful enough for within the home. Still useful, as it is replaced it is placed out among the field of flowers. Slowly it becomes a forgotten treasure for garden visitors to discover if they take the time to explore beyond the path. Although broken, it still is beautiful in its own right.
Sitting among the flowers there is a message within this chair for all who are willing to sit long enough to hear the silent words written onto their soul.
May you all find the time to seek the silent beauty within your travels this week.
Hugs, PB xx
