No matter how dark the moment,
Love and hope are always possible.
~ George Chakiris
Like many around the world my heart lies heavy tonight. Across the seas in a country usually known for love, freedom and a vibrant lifestyle, they are waking (if they have managed to sleep) to ask the question so many of us have uttered in the last 12 hours. Why?
We all seek but there is no logical answer. Another terror attack in what can only be described as an imaginary ideologically driven war, where there is little sense or purpose. These attacks are not an invasion of force, nor are they a radical grab for power or finances of another nation. The only intention behind any attacks like these is the death of innocent people to create widespread fear and cause heart ache. The people who commit these atrocities are so disenfranchised from society, surrounded only by like-minded fringe dwellers. They falsely believe that hiding behind a religion will cover the fact they are simply dysfunctional individuals with murderous criminal intentions.
Well guess what …
The world’s eyes are open and we see; we feel; we know.
We can return fire, drop as many bombs in reply
Being united in love and hope is the only way to fight this style of terrorism.
So tonight, I encourage us all to reach out to our brother and sisters in France. #standwithfrance. We may not know one another, but we don’t need to for we share the same hearts, we love the same way.
For now our love will dry your tears, comfort broken hearts and Paris, as you stand in the face of fear once again, we will stand beside you, supporting the choice for love, freedom and life.
With the world united, we will not lose.
Be safe this week,
